The Second Anniversary of 9/11

The Muslim American community joined the fellow Americans across the country in marking the second anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and mourning the thousands of innocent victims. Muslim Americans experienced the 9/11 tragedy in the same way as all our fellow Americans did, with the same emotions of shock, horror and outrage. The Muslims feel the pain of the families of victims of these terrible attacks must be feeling this day. The victims of 9-11 came from every creed, race and religion, including scores of Arabs and Muslims who lost their lives as a result of this heinous crime. This day was also one of reflection in a spirit of national unity and reaffirming commitment to protect America; not only its buildings and institutions, but also its liberties, freedoms and respect for religious diversity which are the cherished goals of its founding fathers.
